Zimt Patisserie Bakery Café is the lifetime dream of Michael and Sue Leidler, the concept of which has been developed and researched for many years. It is also the bold step of Michael to move on from his family business to establish his own reputation as a one of the fine pâtissiers of Melbourne. The product is their primary passion and they believe in its quality, value and desirability to the market. Zimt translates from German as ‘cinnamon’, the most aromatic of spices. |
Michael Leidler
Michael is a fully qualified pastry cook, completing his apprenticeship in 1993. He worked for more than 14 years in his family business, Fleischer Continental Cakes, where he established himself as a brilliant pastry cook in his own right. His experience in producing quality products is extensive and his talent for creativity is unique.
Sue Leidler
Sue holds a Bachelor of Arts, whose professional experience has been primarily in commercial property management. This involved financial management, property maintenance, legislative compliance and investment development. Sue manages the administrative arm of Zimt, including human resources, financial cash flow, tax and account payments. Together with Michael, she also develops marketing strategies and future direction development.
